Yeah I understand the physics. Just never had a problem before. Must be a ktm thing.I run engine ice in all my bikes. I changed the clip position 1 more richer. I can't remember what the main and pilot were. I did change the main when I bought it. The cap is a 1.4 which is low but shouldn't pop easily. I haven't boiled over since I changed needle position and added engine ice. I only pushed it hard once since then, at the monkey butt ride, but it was cold out.

The KTM RFS bikes are not know for running hot, except the EPA/DOT compliant 2007 EXCs.

If the Muddy Butt ... I mean Monkey Butt, didn't overheat it, then you should be OK.  All of that mud and spinning will heat it up a lot more than the outside temperature will.

I wonder if the valves are out of spec cause the engine to run hot.

It shouldn't, it would be hard starting though.

RFS valve adjustment is rather easy.

It starts on the first kick. It's just feels like to much compression for the starter. Maybe I should look into the auto decomp.. ill pull the lever and try that too. I was told the 525 runs hot because it has the same chassis as the 450 and I need to buy $600 radiator and a fan kit. Typical of the ktm fan boys.

I think the 525 just runs hot.  Even the newer ones (2011) have the same complaint on the street legal ones, at least according to dirtrider and Dirt Bike anyway.

$600 rads, haha.  KTM fan boys will buy ANYTHING.  There is a guy selling LINKAGE SKID PLATES for 2011-2012 KTMs.  and people are buying them.  Let alone that there are hundreds of thousands of Japanese linkage bikes out there, with no skidplate on said linkages.

Make sure you do some good internet searches.  On the CRF's, the $200+ fan kit (and it may be more, I just remember it was a crazy number for what you get) can be put together for about $60.

You should see the posts where tey tell people they need a steering damper, and throttle stop, and auto clutch before they even start up a 990 lol.

I've seen KTM oem ones on e bay for $115. Not bad, but I don't think I should need one unless im single tracking it in the middle of the summer.

The crf fan kit is about 350 bucks. Considering i had no issues after a 75 dollar jd kit and 20 dollar jug of engine ice that price is craziness.
