Area51 GP
« on: November 08, 2011, 06:38:24 PM »
Who is going to ride the blister inducing Area51 GP?  I have a new clutch coming and am hoping to race it.

Andrew, what do you mean by "track is bombed"?

Jon4moto, what do you not like about area 51's gp?

Anyone else have any constructive criticism? I will tell Chris and Corey about it and if its something they can change I'm sure they will listen. I know they are not blessed with the kind of land and terrain like hogback has so they are limited in many ways.

most of the woods sections dont flow well so theyre full of holes. a couple sections are fluid and not bad. but most of the back section towards the swamp just hammers you. i always tear my hands up, and just generally feel beat up when im done. after 1.5hrs im sore and not really enjoying myself.

HAHA.  I'd actually probably do it but have plans for Sunday anyway.

Other than the track being a far-ish drive (LOL) I don't have any real complaints.  They could try making some bike only sections maybe, so that the bike trails don't get so hammered by quads.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this

It's a little late for this year, but I would be willing to spend a day with Chris and Corey going over their course.  I  bet I could even get a group of workers out there in exchange for a little ride time or something.  I have never been to one of their GP/HS events, so I don't really know what the course is like.  They are moto guys, so I might be able to give them some ideas to make their track better and more rider friendly.  They always do a top notch job at Area 51, so I'm sure with a little help they could make this event even better.

i would be willing to help out too. i think the problem is they dont have a lot of land, and what land is there is a lot of fill, or its swampy. in order to get descent mileage there is a lot of back and forth. its turned into a lot of square holes and rocks. it was a good course for the first two races. now its really blown out. some of it needs to be switched up for a couple years to give things a chance to recover. its been almost the same course for 3 years now.

they definitely do a good job running everything though.
