thruway track
« on: February 10, 2012, 02:51:05 PM »
I know this was mentioned last season, but I drive by 2 tracks everyday on my way to work between Victor and Canandaigua exits. This morning I noticed that the larger more open and off the thruway a lil further track, has been groomed.  And it looks very inviting.  Does anyone here know who owns this land and why we havent been there yet?

Private track that you spent a bunch of money building.  Invite the internet aka a bunch of clowns that you don't know.  I know my track if I had one would be fairly exclusive not to mention insurance issues.

I dont' think we ever found out who owns it.  If someone knows people in Victor near there they might know?  Also if you have an idea of the address we could probably figure it out.

Most direct access is across the street from the India house on 96.  There are two other access points, one off of high street and the other off of willowbrook rd.  Looks like a path is available at the intersection of Victor-mendon  rd.  Basically, there are 50 ways in.

The sign close to the enterance on High st is Dimarco construction.  I can't tell but looks to have a chain across the driveway next to the thruway 100 ft in.  The enterance off of 96 is chained and the sign just down from the direct enterance is another Dimarco sign for "Fischers Ridge"   I would suggest making friends with Dimarco construction or get a name that you can drop while there.

You go explore and let me know how it goes, last attempt to explore along the thruway with you I recall protected wetlands and being stuck in them!

Large driveway on willowbrook leads back there also can't make out name on the sign but do see that people have driven around the gate via the yard of the business next to the enterance.

Take the hummer for a drive when the snow thaws or before ;D

is one more discrete than the other?  What sucks about that thruway trip is that we missed something!  The path that we were on is now heavily expanded to the point I could almost drive the truck along there.  I say we give it another go.  Its been almost 10 years. LOL

It has been almost 10 years WOW amazing how time flys.

All the details I provided on the track is by studying the google maps.  I would say the most destrecte would be the access from willowbrook or the one on High street.  Willowbrook does have a gate it is hard to tell if the one on High street has a gate or not.  I'm guessing Dimarco construction does not take kindly to unwated people on their property.  But only if caught by the wrong person...

from one guinea to another... I should be okay.  I'll ask around.  Dimarco is a huge family.

Dimarco construction sounds really familiar. As far as trying to get in there, i learned my lesson on "tresspassing" with tom last year! No sneaking for me.

People are still riding there, but it's mostly local neighborhood kids I am pretty sure.  I agree it's not worth it though.  Especially when you have keys to somewhere way better!

I am completely against riding where you do not have permission.  It only makes all of us look bad, and fuels their fire for shutting down other riding areas.  If you want to ride there, be an adult, go to the town, find out who owns the property, and ask permission.

Well said, although if an area is not posted and it's obviously being ridden, then I will ride through.  But if you see posted signs, you should honor them.  Likewise a gate, which definitely says "stay out".  And of course if you've been told to stay out, you should.

Don't forget to point out (assuming your atv plated, which you should be) that you are carrying liability insurance when you do ask permission.  Usually that's what most owners are fearfull of.   Also point out that you will stick to trails and not ride all over the place, or places where they don't want you to ride.

I had one guy that didn't want me disturbing ducks in one area.  As long as I stuck to the edge of his property, he was happy.

 Jim.
