I went up to Tug Hill to ride dirt bikes ONCE, in the Spring of 2003.  99% of the "trails" up there seemed to be very boring dirt roads, with the occasional mud bog off to the side.

I never went back there for dirt bike riding.

I'm sure that a local could show someone where the good trails are ... not sure if those would be legal though.

Things have changed alot in 9 years since you have been there. They have added alot. There are probobly 50 miles of trail in the the three new lewis county forest areas alone. I know of miles and miles all over brantingham. Big sand hills, mud, rocky and hilly, you name it. I have no idea about tug hill since i havent gone that way much but i showed chris a taste of what i know in my area as ive been riding there 20 years. You definitely want to go with someone who knows the area. You still need to ride some road to get to each spot, sometimes. Although ive mappedmso much just in my head thats not on the maps i can get anywhere up there mostly by trail. I took chris from brantingham all the way to old forge through the hoderandah wilderness all by trails. Although my nice singletrack had been widened by some dec ass on a quad sometime recently. That pissed me off. However our land backs up to thousands of acres of state forest. So i could really make a ton of my own singletrack back there. Most of all my trails are sportquad width right now. My back trAil alone  is about 3 miles already, rocky and rooted with log jumps. It connects to my neighbors trails all over the place. I lost chris on one of them just 100 ft from camp lol.

Yeah I ended jp in your neighbors yard. Didn't get shot though. The trails are not single track like the farm, and a little on the easy side but I still had a blast. Popping out on a dirt road where you can just pin it made it even more fun. Waking up to bacon on the stove and going to bed after a big ass steak and southern comfort tops everything! Can't wait to go back!

I've ridden with a guy who owns 350 acres inside of Alleghany National Forest.  He would have ride parties, where we would all show up at his place in the morning.  Then cut trail for a couple of hours, have a light lunch, and then do a cross-country trail ride for 6 or so hours, followed by a big cookout.

Sounds like a good model for a DirtEaters summer get together.

I used to ride with a guy in Bradford that has a ton of single track. I gotta get over there and butter him up so we all can ride. Matt I'm sure you probably know him.
