MSR/Answer Gear Sizing
« on: February 22, 2012, 09:50:27 PM »
Has anyone else bought any MSR or Answer gear lately?  I wear 36" waist pants (which fall off my ass) and large shirts, and my old Answer gear that I still wear is 36" and large.  I ordered a set of MSR Axis gear last year (size 36" pants and large jersey).  The pants were skin tight and the jersey was tight.  I ended up with MSR vented gear size 40 pants and an XL jersey!  My wife just got me a set of vented Answer gear size 36" and L.  Once again crazy small, like no way I could zip them small.  They are going back.  What the hell is up with gear sizing?!?!

I have msr axxis from 2010. I got a 40 waist becuase thats the jeans i get but im more like a 39, im always tightening down my belt. The msr pant for me has to be ratcheted down fully tight and still sags. I think 40 is its tight size. The xxl jersey fits perfect.

I have several brands of gear, all size XL and 38" waist.  Never really had a fitting issue with any of it, other than the sleeves being too short for my long ass giraffe arms.

I'm going to the nearest Chinease buffet and eating away the pain...I hope you're happy!!!!   Seriously though, I have 2 sets of Answer pants, both 36" waist.  One I've worn for a couple years, and the other not even close!

i dont know whats up with sizing either. ive worn thor core gear for about  the last 7 years. i stock up on sets when i find closeout deals, i have at least 4 pair of pants in rotation now, and  they range in size from 36-32 and honestly they all fit about the same.
